Mubarak invites Avigdor Lieberman to visit Egypt
Egypt-Israel, Politics, 7/15/2003

The Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot said yesterday that the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak intends to invite Israeli ministers including Avigdor Lieberman who made hostile statements against Cairo, to visit Egypt in order to open "a new page in the relations with Israel."

The paper said that Mubark told the UN Secretary General special envoy Terry Rod Larsen during his meeting with him several days ago in Cairo he intends to sent this invitation." Lieberman said that if such an invitation is addressed by Egypt it will be an important matter by itself and it seems that Egypt wants to assess, once again, its relations with Israel.."

In July, 2001 Lieberman called during a close door meeting with the ambassadors of the former Soviet Union states to "bomb the higher dam " (al-Sid al-Ali) in Egypt, if Egypt moves its forces in Sinai.
