Some 80,000 Palestinians in Iraq

The UNHCR has said it will start next week registering 80,000 Palestinians living in Iraq, many of them were expelled from their houses and do not enjoy legal protection since the collapse of the regime of Saddam Hussein.

In a statement, the UNHCR said that UNHCR will start next week the process registration starting from those who are "in most need." The organization explained that the matter relates to the Palestinians "who live in tents in Haifa sport complex and then those who settled in flats of friends and relatives."

Most of the Palestinians living in Iraq are living in Baghdad and its surrounding areas while small part of them live in the southern and northern parts of the country.
