Explosions in al-Ramadi, redeployment in Falouja as US soldiers are killed, attack in Sameraa
Iraq-USA, Military, 7/12/2003

A position for the US forces in Sameraa city to the north of Baghdad was exposed to an attack by missiles on Thursday midnight. Witnesses said that several American soldiers were killed or wounded in an attack by missile. This news was not confirmed by the US forces leadership.

The Iraqi resistance attacks which resulted yesterday in wounding three Americans forced the US occupation forces to be redeployed in the Falouja city for the first time since its occupation three months ago.

The US soldiers pulled out from the municipality of Falouja town and from the police center following a demonstration for the police men in which they threatened to resign unless the city is evacuated from the Americans. The redeployment aims at decreasing the American presence which angered the population and clashes that resulted in many killings in the line of the two sides along the last weeks.

In Sameraa ( North Baghdad), three Americans were wounded when Iraqi resistance opened 4 mortar shells against an American base in the region. An American patrol in the surrounding of the base found a wounded Iraqi citizen but it was not clear whether he was a resistance man or a civilian who was hit in the attack. In al-Ramadi, Iraqi resistance fighters fired two mortars at an American base to the west of the city in an attack which is the 7th of its kind within 10 days but did not result in damages.

One Iraqi was woman was wounded in a fire exchange between Iraqi resistance and American soldiers in Balad town to the north of the Iraqi capital.
