Morocco grabs 1st gold medal at Sherbrooke's 15-17 World Athletics Championships

Siham Hilal gave Morocco on Wednesday its first gold medal in the 3rd IAAF World Youth Athletics Championships the world athletics championships in Sherbrooke(Quebec, Canada), when she finished first in the 3,000 race.
Hilal clocked 9.12:70, followed by Kenya's Chepkorir Pasalia Kipkoech (2nd) and Japan's Yuko Nohara (3rd).
The 3,000 m race took place right after the opening of the Sherbrook's bi-annual meeting.
Some 1400 young athletes, aged 15 to 17, of the 160 participating countries are defending the colors of their country from July 9 to 13 in the bi-annual World Youth Athletics event.
Morocco will host the coming edition in July 2005.
