Bremer asks Congress for 1.2 billion for fixing the oil industry
Iraq-USA, Economics, 7/11/2003
An American official announced yesterday that the US administrator of Iraq Paul Bremer asked for 1.2 billion dollars from the US congress in order to fix that oil industry in the country.
The sources explained that the "Congress approved USD 400 million, but the oil industry after the attacks against the oil pipelines and the looting operations in refineries and equipment are in a very bad condition and beyond what is expected. A situation which pushed.. Bremer to ask for additional USD 800 million."
