Kuwait: speculations to separate tomorrow the crown prince, the government presidency posts
Kuwait, Politics, 7/11/2003

Political sources in Kuwait expected yesterday that Kuwait's Amir Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah will issue a decree for separating the two posts of the crown prince and the prime minister which are currently assumed by the crown prince.

Sources in the ruling family said that it is expected that the Amir of Kuwait will appoint a new prime minister tomorrow Saturday after talks with members of the ruling family.

The Kuwaiti government gave its resignation on Sunday in preparation for the formation of a new government after the parliamentary elections which were held on July 5th.

The Kuwaiti daily "Arab Times" said yesterday that the deputy premier and foreign minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah is the person expected to be assigned to form the new government.
