Syria - Turkey joint company to be established
Syria-Turkey, Economics, 7/10/2003

Syria's minister of Industry, Issam al-Zaeem and Chairman of Turkish Gurish Group's Administrative Council, Idrees Yaman Turk signed yesterday in Damascus an understanding memorandum stipulating the establishment of a joint company aiming at renewing and expanding cement, sugar and fertilizers factories.

It also aims at expanding the works of the infrastructure and industrializing new industrial equipment.

al-Zaeem stressed the importance of this establishment in boosting investment and economic cooperation between the two friendly countries.

He added that this project is considered as a step for the activation of the joint sector and the exchange of the technology.

For his part, Yaman expressed his group's readiness to cooperate with the Syrian side, to implement this agreement and to establish new projects that help in boosting economic cooperation.
