Yemen, Saudi Arabia cooperation in terrorism fighting

Yemen and Saudi Arabia yesterday announced in conclusion of the annual session of the Yemeni- Saudi coordination council in Sanaa, their determination to strengthen their cooperation in the security field and to double efforts to fight terrorism.

A joint statement issued in conclusion of talks of the council lasted which for two days said the two sides "stressed their care to strengthen security cooperations in the service of security and stability in the two countries in the terrorism fighting field."

The statement added that "terrorism is an international evil that knows no religion or nationality, of which many countries have suffered including the Arab states and it is damaging for the interests of all and threaten security and stability in the region and the world."

The two states have recently worked to strengthen their borders to prevent operations of illegal crossing and weapons smuggling following unconfirmed reports that weapons and explosives were used in Riyadh's attacks in May, were smuggled from Yemen.

The two states also signed bilateral cooperation agreements in the fields of foreign affairs, taxation, technical education and promotion of tourism and communications exports.
