Interior minister on modernization

Syria's Interior Minister, Ali Hammoud, has stressed that the Ministry has made a good progress regarding the laws' modernization in the framework of development and modernization march under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad.

In an interview by Syrian T.V. yesterday, the minister talked about the Law number 3 issued on 31-5-2003 concerning the new identity cards. He referred to the Immigration and Passports departments automation and modernization of laws and Administration works in the ministry.

He indicated to the linking project between the Civil Registration automation and the project of identity cards system issuance and the integration between the two systems by using the national number which will be a substitute for the citizen's name.
