Nizar Hamdoun dies at 59

Iraq's former representative at the UN Nizar Hamdoun died at over 59 year old following a long struggle with cancer.

Arab diplomats in New York said that Hamdoun who worked as a representative for his country at the UN and a deputy for the Iraqi foreign minister as well as an ambassador for his country to the US during the 1980s died late night Friday in a hospital in New York following deteriorated health conditions as he had been in a coma for one full week.
