Kuwaiti government desolved
Kuwait, Politics, 7/7/2003

Kuwait's Amir Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah accepted the resignation of the prime minister and members of the government as from yesterday, on the ground that they continue performing their mission until a new government is formed.

This is, however, according to the rules of the Kuwaiti constitution which states that the government has to submit resignation immediately following the issuance of the final results of the Ummah council ( parliament) elections.

The ruler of Kuwait also issued another decree yesterday stated to invite the new Ummah council to convene its ordinary meeting on July 19 in order to elect a parliament speaker and the deputy speaker of the new Ummah council.

However, the final results of the elections of the new Kuwaiti Ummah council in its 10th legislative decree was declared earlier in the day, Sunday.
