US diplomat says Washington wants final settlement of sahara issue

US ambassador in Algiers, Janet Sanderson, said Washington wants a final settlement of the Sahara issue, a problem that has been negatively affecting relations between countries of the region for long years. US Supports Political Settlement to Sahara Issue, US Ambassador
Also, US ambassador in Morocco, Margaret Tutwiller, said her country will continue to support any political settlement to the Sahara issue.
In an interview with Moroccan dailies "Le Matin du Sahara et du Maghreb" and "Assahra Al Maghribya," the diplomat said the US administration is ready to work with the concerned parties to reach a final settlement that would guarantee peace in the region.
Pending that Morocco, the Polisario and Algeria reach "a political agreement accepted by all, the USA will continue to support the principle of a political settlement that guarantees peace, as it was agreed upon by Morocco and the other parties, she said insisting on the complexity of conflicts over territories.
