Keftaro confers with chairman of Pontifical council

Syria's Grand Mufti, Sheikh Ahmad Keftaro, received in Damascus on Friday Chairman of Pontifical Council for dialogue among religions in Vatican, Michael Louis Fitzgerald.
During the meeting, Keftaro called for returning to the essential nature of religions which call for communication, dialogue, coexistence in addition to supporting peace and development options for building a stable human society.
He stressed the necessity for mobilizing true efforts in service of right, justice and freedom to the Palestinian people legitimate strife against the Israeli occupation.
For his part, Fitzgerald underlined the world's need to peace for spreading principles of right and justice among the world's peoples.
