The 3rd Syrian International Motor Show "SYRAUTO 2003," the international specialized exhibition for automotive and spare parts and accessories in the Middle East opens today July 6 through 12 at the Damascus International Fair Ground.

The Syrian automotive market has experienced several dramatic changes during the past three years. These changes were mainly caused by the liberalization of vehicle imports and the amendments introduced to the automobile customs duties, which eventually altered the competition structure of this market by increasing the variety of models and therefore raising the bargaining power of consumers.

Since its first round in 2001, SYRAUTO proved its ability to provide an ideal ground to learn about the new particularity of this market by directly examining the diversified needs of customers as well as highlighting the latest developments in the world-wide automobile technology.

The exhibition, however, is a great occasion for vendors to meet new prospects and to introduce the latest products and services in the automobile industry. It has successfully overpassed its boundaries to become a well-known event that regional companies anticipate to find new business opportunities in the Middle East. SYRAUTO 2002 witnessed the participation of 196 exhibitors representing 29 countries representing 11% increase over the first round, while the number of visitors reached 40,000 and the net exhibiting space exceeded 7500 square meters.

Among many others, the following products will be shown in the exhibition, giving an indication on the participating companies: Passengers cars + 4WD vehicles, pick-ups and trucks, motorcycles, vans, mini Bbuses, coaches; heavy industrial machines, tractors and bulldozers, auto spare parts, accessories and components, petroleum products and lubricants, automative paints, batteries and glass, automative air conditioning, tires, audio systems, car workshops and service stations, car rental companies, insurance service.

The organizer of the event, Allied Expo, is a major Syrian exhibition organizer established in 1996 for specialized trade exhibitions in Syria, technically focused seminars and conferences and Syrian exhibitions at the international levels.

The group is also an active member of the Arab Union of International exhibitions and Conferences ( AUIEC) and the International Association for Exhibition Management ( IAEM).

The other organizer of this event is Art Line for organizing international exhibitions and conferences, established in Egypt in 1987 and has a great reputation at the Arab, and regional levels.
