A-Watan: Djerjian underlines Syria 's role in ME peace

Former American Ambassador in Damascus and the Director of the James Baker Institute for Strategic Studies, Edward Djerjain, underlined Syria's important role in the Mideast peace process stressing the impossibility of achieving peace without Syria.

In a statement published by the Saudi al-Watan newspaper issued yesterday in Riyadh, he asserted the necessity for continuing the constructive and frank dialogue between the Syrian and American sides in order to achieve progress in the relations of cooperation between them.

He pointed out that the constructive dialogue between Washington and Damascus produced a positive results in the past such as the holding of Madrid Conference.
