Palestine Media Center: Israel Assassinates Palestinian
Palestine-Israel, Military, 7/3/2003

The Palestine Media Center said today "Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) assassinated a Palestinian activist in Qalqilia and closed the north-south highway in the Gaza Strip to Palestinian traffic during the morning rush hour on Thursday in a violation to the truce, which was announced on Sunday by Palestinian factions and the Gaza withdrawal agreement between the Palestine National Authority (PNA) and Israel.

The report said "An Israeli undercover unit raided the northern West Bank town of Qaqlilia and shot dead Mahmoud Shawar, 32, a local Fatah activist, Palestinian medical and security sources said"

The report added "an Israeli army bulldozer placed large cement blocks on the Salah al-Dein road, linking the northern and southern Gaza Strip towns together."
