Nayef: 124 detainees since the Riyadh explosions

The Saudi Arabian minister of the interior Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz yesterday said the Saudi security forces are currently interrogating 124 persons, arrested following the incidents of Riyadh, Mecca and al-Madina al-Munawara, noting that among them are Saudi and non- Saudi nationals.

In a speech he delivered at a Shoura council session dedicated for an open dialogue on "the regrettable terrorist incidents that recently took place in the Kingdom," the Saudi minister said "the total number of persons arrested so far is 124 who are under interrogation," noting that those persons "have direct links to incidents."

He said that the arrested persons are: "32 in Riyadh, 43 in al-Madina al-Munawara, 27 men and five women in Mecca as well as many others who are indirectly involved in the incidents.. In all these groups there are various nationalities." However he did not disclose these nationalities.
