Irish FM vows commitment for just ME peace

Ireland's Foreign Minister Brian Cowen has stressed his country's adherence, when it starts its presidency of the European Union, to a serious movement for reaching just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East. Following his meeting with Lebanese countrepart Jean Obeid, yesterday in Beirut, Cowen said "we have to work for achieving a peace that brings prosperity to the region through adhering to international law."
On his part, Obeid stressed that Syria and Lebanon are not obstacles to the Roadmap adding that peace process should include Syrian - Lebanese track.
