Qaddoumi conveys a message from Arafat to President al-Assad
Syria-Palestine, Politics, 6/30/2003

The Political Department Chairman of Palestinian Liberation Organization Farouk al-Qaddoumi said today that he conveyed a message from President Yasser Arafat to Syria's President Bashar al-Assad concerning the situations in the region, particularly in Palestine.

Following his meeting with foreign minister Farouk al-Shara, Qaddoumi indicated that the message included boosting the Palestinian national Unity and understanding, solving the issues of Palestinians inside occupied Territories and peace process.

Answering a question about Syria and the Roadmap, Qaddoumi stressed that Syria is a well-fortified fortress and she is directly intended in peace. The Palestinian leadership stresses that the Roadmap will not be comprehensive except by the three tracks and by achieving just and comprehensive peace according to the Arab initiative of Beirut, Qaddoumi added.
