Morocco-Italy hashish network dismantled
Morocco-Italy, Local, 6/28/2003
An international network of Hashish traffic between Morocco and Italy via Spain was dismantled and all its members were arrested, the Italian police said on Wednesday.
Investigations started in January after the seizure of 200 Kg of Hashish concealed under a cargo of plaster received in Valencia and that was bound to Florence by a truck, plated in Italy.
The Italian police arrested three Italians and two Moroccans living in Florence and suspected to be the network's masterminds.
The probe ended on Wednesday with the arrest of the six other members of the network and the opening of an inquiry with 15 dealers, including many high school and university students in Florence.
