Morocco-Canada, Business, 6/27/2003
The Moroccan Popular Banks institution (GBP), which has been present in Canada for the last three decades, is seeking to consolidate its presence in Canada to better serve the Moroccan community living there.
In addition to customizing its products and services to meet the needs of Moroccan expatriates in Canada, the banking institution also seeks to promote trade between business operators of the two countries, said the bank CEO, Noureddine Omary, in a meeting with members of this community.
The Bank chief who is also taking part in the world congress of the Arab Banks Union held in Montreal this June 25-26 also surveyed with Moroccan media professionals in Canada (radio, TV and electronic journals) the evolution of the financial institutions.
The GBP opened a representation in Canada in 1988 to help in increasing economic exchanges between the two countries, by promoting partnerships and trade relations between business operators of the two countries. Its customers in Canada now reach 1,000 Moroccans.
