New oil explosion to the north west of Baghdad

The official at the North oil company in Barawenah area ( 250 Km north west Baghdad ), Rasem Abdul Qader Shaker, said that an explosion took place in an oil pipeline in the area that feeds al-Doura oil refinery and the adjoining electricity station which provides electricity to Baghdad.
Shaker said in a press statement that the explosion took place on "Tuesday evening, 50 meters from the village." He added that the pipeline whose diameter is 60 centimeters links the oil city of Karkouk with the pumping station in al- Hdeitha to the west. Eye witness said the fire lasted until Wednesday evening which civil defense officials were trying to extinguish.
