Al-Assad confers with Fischer

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad received in Damascus on Monday German Minister of Foreign Affairs, Joschka Fischer.
The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara. Talks during the meeting dealt with exchanging points of views about the Middle East peace process, the Roadmap to peace, the situation after the Iraq war and the results of the quartet-committee meetings. The two sides reviewed the European Union and the German Government's presented proposals regarding the peace process in the region.
