Somali presidential elections postponed until end of June

The chairman of the technical committee of IGAD organization which sponsors the Somali reconciliation conference has announced the postponement of the Presidential elections which were due during the two past days in Nairobi, until the end of the current month.
He added "all preparations are almost completed, but parliamentary elections will precede the presidential elections."
He urged the participants in the reconciliation conference to shoulder their historical responsibilities to provide the conference its last chance of success through which the international community, through IGAD which seeks to rescue Somalia from disorder the Somalis have suffered for more than one decade.
On the other hand, five persons were at least killed and other six wounded in fighting between the tribes militias in Kesmayu, the capital of Lower Juba capital situated to the far south of Somalia. The fighting came in the course of tribal revenge. Observers fear that the revenge fighting will expand to include parts of the city.
