Arab entrepreneurs union meet in cairo over Iraq reconstruction

The Arab Entrepreneurs Union will hold in Cairo on June 19 a meeting to examine the participation of Arab enterprises in the reconstruction of Iraq, the Union's chairman, Ahmad Saaf Balhassa, announced on Tuesday.

Balhassa told the press the union's executive office, which closely follows developments in Iraq, will see to it that Arab companies take part in the reconstruction of Iraq, particularly through the Arab ministers' council of housing and urbanism and all parties directly involved in the process.

Companies from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan showed that they are able to compete with foreign companies and implement projects in conformity with international quality standards, he added.

According to Balhassa, the first phase of the reconstruction of Iraq will focus on airports, hospitals, schools, administrative buildings, roads, water and electricity networks, bridges and tunnels.
