Al-Shara, confers with Vidovin

Syria's Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara received in Damascus yesterday the Russian Special Envoy of peace process in the Middle East Andre Vidovin and an accompanying delegation.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the latest developments in the region, and the Israeli policy at the Palestinian territories which violates the exerted efforts to put an end to the tension in the region.

Al-Shara stressed that the comprehensive compromise and the just resolutions are the needed ways to preserve the just and comprehensive peace.

In a statement to the reporters, Vidovin said that the most important thing is to stop the firing and to reach a political dialogue to implement the Roadmap.

He indicated that Russia supported the comprehensive resolutions in Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon, and that issue needs intensified efforts and study.
