Exchange market stable, exchange rate down
Egypt, Economics, 6/17/2003
Foreign currency exchange rates went down on the exchange market over the last two days due to the increase in supply in foreign currencies and return of Egyptians working abroad.
The dollar exchange rate reached LE. 5,95 for buying and LE. 5,00 for selling, compared to LE 6,10 last week.
The Euro exchange rate decreased to LE. 7,06 for buying and LE. 7,09 for selling.
Deputy chairman of exchange branch at the Federation of Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), Belal Khalil, said the increase in supply coincided with a decrease in demand.
