Minister of Petroleum, Sameh Fahmi discussed with visiting Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Wealth, Mohamed Al-Battayna and his accompanying delegation the final touches in the Arab natural gas pipeline from Al-Arish to Aqaba in preparation for its inauguration.
Fahmi said talks with the Jordanian Minister tacked the second phase of the Arab National Gas pipeline from Aqaba to Al- Rehab city near Jordanian-Syrian borderlines.
A joint Egyptian-Jordanian company "Fajr" would be set up to execute the second phase with Egyptian share of 40%, UAE 40% and Jordan 20%.
"Talks with the Jordanian side reflected cooperation on both sides to put into effect that mega project," he added.
On his part, Al-Bottayna said that the Arab natural gas pipeline was an example to follow in Arab cooperation.
Egyptian abundant national gas would supply Jordan with its needs as a clean source of energy.
The Jordanian Minister expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Egyptian company that executed the first phase from Al-Arish to Aqaba.
