Four policemen killed in attack east of Algeria

Algerian security sources said that four police members were killed and a fifth wounded in a bomb explosion in one area in Tezi Ozo in al-Qabael area to the east of the capital.

The sources said that the explosion took place when a patrol for the police was running in the region where members of al-Salafeyah group for call and fighting led by Hassan Hattab exists.

This group which has been active in East Algeria. This attack, however, is considered the second which targets in less than two weeks members of the security forces in this region.

Ten police men were killed and two others wounded in June 4th in an ambush implanted by an armed group in Bani Dawalah near Teizi Ozo. Two cars for the Lt. Gen. Of the judicial police was exposed to fire by armed men.

Official Algerian statistics indicate that acts of violence resulted in killing 82 persons including 26 security forces members in Algeria since the beginning of this June.
