Gul: Syrian - Turkish relations are in an advanced stage

Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul has asserted that the Syrian-Turkish bilateral relations has reached to a very advanced stage stressing the necessity for a joint action in order to develop these relations.
During his meeting with the Minister of Industry, Issam al-Zaeem, yesterday in Ankara, Gul underlined that developing the economic relations between the two countries affects positively not only the Syrian and the Turkish people but also the peoples of the region as a whole.
He expressed readiness to exchange expertise with Syria in the technological domain and to establish relations of cooperation between the private sectors in both countries.
He also underlined that the bilateral relations have developed between the two countries during the latest years stressing that the commercial exchange should reach 2 billion dollars up by 750 millions within the two coming years.
For his part, al-Zaeem underlined that expanding the relations will help relations reach a strategic level.
He also pointed out that the joint history and geographic position of both countries are considered to be basic factors in developing the joint investment, commercial exchange and tourist cooperation.
