Athletics: Morocco's paramount track star defeated in Ostrava

Moroccan paramount field and track star, Hicham El Guerrouj, was defeated Thursday at the IAAF super Grand Prix meet of Ostrava, ending second on 5000 m.
El Guerrouj, world champion and record-holder of the 1,500 m, paid the price high of his first ever 5,000 m. He was outpaced by Kenyan Stephen Cherono. The Moroccan had said he will run the 1,500m and 5, 000m at the world championships in Paris in August.
