The French President Jacque Chirac and the Lebanese prime minister Rafic Hariri have expressed their concern over the escalated conditions in the Palestinian territories during their meeting in Paris yesterday.
In statements to the press following the meeting, Hariri said that the Israeli government is making its utmost efforts to bombard peace efforts, expressing concern over the deteriorated conditions in the Palestinian territories.
Hariri added that it seems that the Israeli government does not contribute to the implementation of the Roadmap.
He explained that he had discussed during the meeting with Chirac the comprehensive and just peace in the Middle East covering all tracks.
For her part, the spokeswoman for the Elysee palace, Catherine Colonna stressed that Chirac condemned the aggressions that recently took place and expressed concern over the prevailing conditions.
She added that "we should make everything possible to stop the cycle of violence and to give peace all chances, regardless to difficulties."
