Iraq failed to return most seized Kuwaiti property, Annan
Kuwait-Iraq, Politics, 6/13/2003

Ousted Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's government failed to return most of the Kuwaiti property seized during its 1990-91 occupation of its neighbour despite some "limited cooperation" prior to the recent hostilities, according to the latest United Nations report on the issue.

"While some property and some documents were handed over, it must be stressed that the Kuwaiti archives, along with Kuwaiti military equipment seized by Iraq, remain largely unreturned," Secretary-General Kofi Annan says in the latest of the half-yearly reports requested in 1999 by the Security Council.
