Hamas warns foreigners to leave Israel, threaten Sharon
Palestine-Israel, Military, 6/13/2003

News reports from the occupied Palestinian territories said that 7 Palestinians were killed at least including one child and other scores wounded when Israeli helicopters fired several missiles targeting a car in Sheikh Ridwan quarters in Gaza, in a new Israeli assassination operation against the Palestinians.

The reports added from Gaza that an Israeli F-16 warplanes bombarded a car which was running in al-Jalaa street in the downtown of Gaza, noting that the raid targeted Yasser Taha, one of the cadres of the Islamic resistance ( Hamas ). Preliminary information said that Taha, his wife and two children who were accompanying him were killed in the raid, according to Hamas sources.

This new Israeli operation came just after hours from the Israeli forces announcing a relentless war against Hamas through threatening the leading figures of this movement for the killings following the Fedayeen operation in Jerusalem which resulted in the death of 16 Israelis in addition to the Palestinian bomber.

Meantime, Israeli minister of internal security, Tsahi Hanegbi, threatened Hamas leaders including the founder of the movement Sheikh Ahmad Yassin and its other leaders, stressing that they do not enjoy immunity.

This, however, coincided with instructions the Israeli forces received to liquidate the leaders of Hamas and to target the movement's infrastructure beside its political leaders following a meeting for the Israeli army chief of staff members with the Israeli defense minister Shaoul Mofaz.

Meanwhile, the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon called on officials in the Palestinian Authority to move to stop the resistance operations.

During a session for the Israeli Cabinet yesterday, Sharon described his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas as a "chicken whose feathers have not yet grown" and he has to be helped to fight what he called terrorism until Abbas's feathers grow.

On the other hand, the Ezz Eddine groups, the military wing of Hamas called on citizens of foreign states to leave Israel immediately in order to preserve their safety. The groups added that the resistance operations will cover every place in the occupied territories of 1948 or in the territories of 1967.

The groups also vowed to liquidate the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon, and this was following orders given to the Israeli occupation forces to fight Hamas by all means in order to crush it totally.

The leading figure in Hamas, Mahmoud al-Zahhar, said in a speech before thousands of Palestinians who participated in the funeral of Palestinians who were killed on Wednesday in the Israeli raids against Gaza, that "the Israelis had started the war against our people, if you have started the war, Sharon's head is wanted and the head of every Israeli is wanted." To this effect, the Palestinian Authority said on behalf of its information minister Nabil Amre that it condemned the new Israeli raids.

In a statement to the Qatari al-Jazira TV yesterday Amre accused the government of Sharon of perpetuating his intention to destroy any political effort to get out of the cycle of violence and to foil the Roadmap for peace in the Middle East before it starts.

Moreover, a Palestinian official source said that an Egyptian delegation will arrive next week in Gaza to discuss the issue of declaring a truce with the Palestinian groups. The source did not define the level of this delegation, nor the date set for its visit.
