SFD to set up Arab SMEs network

Egypt's Secretary General of the Social Fund for Development (SFD), Hani Seif El-Nasr said the Fund has become in charge of setting up an Arab network for small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with the target of activating cooperation among Arab states in all development domains, specially SMEs.
Speaking to a conference on the role of Arab Youth in activating Arab common market, Seif El-Nasr said SMEs could be the starting point for cooperation among Arab youths.
This experiment would provide an expertise for the youth of Arab states in trade and services exchange in addition to finance and joint investment fields, he added.
RABAT, June (MAP)- The schooling rate of children aged between 6 and 11 years could reach 94 per cent in the next school year compared to 91,1 per cent currently, said minister of national education and youth, Habib El Malki.
Malki announced in the House of Advisers that the schooling rate of children aged between 12 and 14 will reach 70 per cent next year that is a 3 per cent increase in comparison to the current school year.
According to the minister, 32 new primary schools will open next year bringing the number of primary schools nationwide to 6,742.
Malki added that 380 schools were built in poor neighborhoods that were by far deprived of educational institutions.
The number of classrooms in primary education, he added, will reach 91,693, including 54,540 in rural areas, that is a 3,7 rise.
Malki further noted that his department plans to open 50 new junior high schools which will increase their number to 1,446 and the number of classrooms to 26,797, that is a 6 per cent rise compared to the current school year.
The education ministry also plans the opening of new boarding schools encompassing 1,440 beds. (MAP)OB/
