Consultations between Sudanese government, rebels, and mediators to draft final agreement

The Sudanese government has disclosed that the few coming weeks will witness large scale consultations on the draft of the final agreement, noting the expected visit by the Kenyan envoy Lazaras to Khartoum to give proposal on the final draft agreement before debating it to sides concerned next week, remarking that issues on sharing the authority and resources should be fulfilled through elections.

The minister of state at the Sudanese foreign ministry Najib al-Kheir said that the Kenyan envoy will be meeting with the leading figures of the rebels in Rombique in the third week of this month in order to know their views concerning proposals debated by the government to the envoy during his recent visit to Khartoum.

However, in a remarkable effort to boost efforts of the international community to arrange the post peace phase in Sudan and to eliminate obstacles concerning humanitarian aid in the country, the UN secretary general special envoy for humanitarian affairs Tom Franclin started a series of meetings with several number of senior politicians in Sudan in order to inspect the process of the agreements signed between the government and the rebels in addition to discussing reaching humanitarian aid through the "Life-line program." An official source at the UN explained that the UN envoy will meet during his visit which will last for seven days with the advisor of the President for peac, Ghazi Salah Eddine.
