Shaloum shortens visit to Russia after Putin refused to meet him
Israel-Russia, Politics, 6/12/2003
Well- informed diplomatic sources said that the Israeli foreign minister Shalom Silvan decided to shorten his program visit to Russia after he was due to head from Moscow to Petersburg to meet with the Jewish community there but he canceled the meeting, giving no reason to that.
On Tuesday, the Russian President Vladimir Putin refused to meet with Shaloum due to the Kremlin disappointment with the repeated American and Israeli requests to halt cooperation between Russia and Iran.
