Three Iraqis killed in an ammunition warehouse explosion
Iraq-USA, Local, 6/11/2003

Three Iraqis were killed and two wounded in an ammunition warehouse explosion on Monday in al-Dewaneyah city to the south of Baghdad.

In a statement, the US central leadership said that the American forces which were sent to the site of the explosion transported the wounded to nearby hospitals, giving no explanation to the reasons behind the explosion. The American forces opened an investigation to that effect.

A similar explosion took place in the same city in May and resulted in killing one American soldier and wounding another.

In a separate incident, the American leadership said that a fire caused a series of explosions in a warehouse for the delivery of ammunition near the city of Kerbalaa to the south of Baghdad yesterday but resulted in no casualties.
