Moroccan women MP delegation ends visit to Germany
Morocco-Germany, Politics, 6/10/2003

A delegation of Moroccan women parliament members ended an eight-day visit to Germany where they met several government officials, MPs and NGOs.

Amina Ouchelh, an MP from the Socialist Union of popular forces (USFP), told MAP the visit was "fruitful" because "it allowed us to get better acquainted with the political and parliamentary life in Germany and the works of German associations."

The visit, she went on, was also an opportunity to highlight women's political status in Morocco and the steps achieved by the country in the consolidation of the democratic process and reinforcement of freedom and human rights.

The delegation met with German secretary of state for economic cooperation and development, Arick Stather, who underlined the importance of projects carried out by German associations in Morocco. He added that his country closely follows reforms under way in Morocco.
