Egypt renews demanding a government in Baghdad representing the Iraqi people
Egypt-USA, Politics, 6/10/2003

The Egyptian foreign minister Ahmed Maher has stressed following his meeting with the American ambassador in Cairo David Welsh yesterday the need to enable the Iraqi people to form a government representing all its trends.

Maher said "I have explained to the American ambassador once again, Egypt's position and its assertion on the need of enabling the Iraqi people very soon to choosing their government which represents all people."

For his part, Welsh said "we seriously seek to establish Iraqi establishments representing the people. It is a difficult task but we are committed to it," noting that the security situation in Iraq "is improving day by day."
