Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak gives lecture, opens Children Book Fair in Arab world institute

Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak will deliver a lecture next Thursday under the title "Egypt's experience in encouraging reading for all in Egypt and Arab world" during the 7th Arab-European book fair which is organized by the Paris-based Arab World Institute and attended by Farouk Hosni, Minister of Culture.

Moreover, Mrs. Mubarak will also reward the winners of drawing up a design for the new Egyptian museum of Fayoum desert road.

Bibliotheca Alexandrina will host, under the sponsorship of Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, an international conference for education reform from 20 to 23 June 2003 in which, they will discuss education schemes in developing countries and the possibility of setting up an Arab and regional program for sciences and mathematics within the Arab region with the aim of reforming educational curricula in developing countries.

The conference will also direct a message to the officials responsible for setting up education plans and decision makers who participate in specifying the new plans and preparing the teachers particularly in science and mathematics.

Through the relentless efforts exerted by Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, she will inaugurate, within the few days the first centre for treating eye diseases in Egypt and the Middle East region. The center is equipped with the state of the art technology and sophisticated apparatuses to rank its position as the 6th medical specialized center worldwide.
