Deal to export 1,000 Mercedes cars to China

An agreement was reached in principle to export 1,000 Mercedes cars assembled in Egypt to China after a success achieved by the manufacturer in a previous deal that involved the export of 250 Mercedes E-240 cars.
Other requests are currently under consideration to export to several countries in the Middle East and Asia in light of the license by the parent company in Germany.
Minister of Foreign Trade Youssef Boutros Ghali, in a celebration held on the occasion of shipping the last batch of the deal to export 250 Mercedes cars to China, hailed the plant's start to locally manufacture brake discs to be exported to the parent company and foreign markets as well as the local market with a capacity of 250,000 discs annually.
The plant's production of these discs will reach 10 million during the five years to come within the framework of maximizing local products in the prestigious car, which hit 45.7 percent, said Ghali.
Participating in the celebration held at the plant's headquarters in 6th of October City were Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Fayza Abul Naga, Foreign Trade Sector Chief Sayed Abul-Qomsan, and a host of Egyptian industrialists and businessmen.
