Artillery explosion in Iraq kills one American sailor

An American military spokesman announced that a member at the American naval engineering was killed yesterday Friday in an artillery explosion in the downtown of Baghdad.
In statement, the spokesman, David Conoly said that other three sailors were injured in the explosion which took place yesterday morning in al-Kout city, 150 Km to the southern East Baghdad, noting that their condition is stable.
He explained "an investigation to this incident will be opened," noting that the name of the killed sailor will not be disclosed before notifying his family.
Since the beginning of May when President George W. Bush announced the end of the main part in the military operations in Iraq, some 26 American soldiers were killed in this country.
