British ministry of interior will give Saddam's daughters asylum
Iraq-UK, Politics, 6/7/2003

British sources said yesterday that the British ministry of the interior will give the daughters of Saddam Hussein Raghad and Rana political asylum if they can leave Iraq peacefully.

Saddam's two daughters who used to be considered permanent visitors to London during the 1980s when her father's rule relations with the west were remarkable showed their desire to resort to Britain, according to a statement by their cousin, Ezz Eddin Hassan al-Majiud, who is currently a refugee in Britain.

Abdul Miguid returned on Thursday to Baghdad after he was interrogated by the British immigration department at Bradford airport on his last mission, especially that being a political refugee, he does not have the right as a political asylum seekers to return to the original country especially as he was offered the asylum for reasons pertinent to violation of human rights in his country.

However, Ezz Eddine al-Miguid who lives in Britain and was given asylum after the killing of his wife and children at the hands of Saddam Hussein's intelligence, when he was in what seemed a humanitarian mission in London to arrange for their asylum in Britain.

The British minister of state for internal affairs Beverly Fuse said in statements to the BBC that if the two ladies Raghad ( 35 year old) and Rana (32 year old) will be able to arrive in the British lands, then the ministry will consider their request to the right of asylum.

The British sources say that one of the problems which impede the travel of the two sisters Raghad and Rana is that there are no direct flights between Baghdad and London.
