Kuwaiti- Chinese relations are remarkable, diplomat

A Kuwaiti diplomat stressed yesterday the deep Kuwaiti- Chinese relations, noting that they are based on reciprocated mutual respect and are considered one of the best relations among countries as an example to be followed.

Kuwait's ambassador to China Faisal al-Gheis said in a telephone call with the Kuwaiti news agency KUWNA that relations between the two countries are based on mutual respect.

He added much have been achieved between the two countries since the commencement of diplomatic relations in 1971 and that leaders of the two countries are keen to develop and strengthen these relations in various fields especially in the areas of energy, the economy, trade and military industries. He added that the Kuwaiti and Chinese sides hold common views concerning international issues, like the case of Taiwan, besides China sides with Kuwait's legitimate rights, noting that Kuwait was among the first Gulf states which established relations with China and the first to recognize the people's republic of China.

He stressed that Kuwait and since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1971 supports China's policy as one unit and that Taiwan is an integrated part of China.
