Syrian- Ukrainian relations highlighted

Chairman of the friendship group with Syria in the Ukrainian Parliament, Anatoli Damanski, highly lauded President Bashar Al-Assad's policy and his firm principled stances towards the Arab Nation causes.

In a statement to SANA correspondent in Kiev on Friday, Damanski expressed his country's support to the continuous Syrian efforts for realizing just and comprehensive peace on the basis of the relevant United Nations resolutions stipulating the full Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Arab territories to June 4, 1967 line.

He stressed that the Syrian-Ukrainian Higher Joint committee meetings in Kiev form an important stage in the constructive cooperation relations between the two friendly countries.

Regarding the situation in Iraq, Damanski called for withdrawal of the US and British forces from Iraq and activating the central role of the United Nations in solving international problems and conflicts including the Iraqi issue.
