Iraq-USA, Politics, 6/6/2003
The American central leadership said yesterday that the "al-Quds army" leader which was founded by the toppled Iraqi President Saddam Hussein is in the hands of the American- British coalition.
In a statement, the central leadership said that "Eyad Khaleifa al-Rawi, no. 30 on the list of the wanted Iraqis was arrested." The statement gave no other details. The US authorities prepared a list including 55 wanted former Iraqi officials.
Al-Rawi was running "al-Quds army" which includes, according to the former Iraqi regime, 7 million volunteers trained to "liberate Jerusalem." More than half of the 55 Iraqi wanted officials were arrested since the collapse of Baghdad on May 9th. However, the fate of Saddam Hussein and his two sons Ode and Qusai who are on top of the list is still unknown.
