US concern over increased attacks; political forces reject US plan for interim administration

The Pentagon has expressed concern over the series of operations which targeted recently the American forces in Iraq. It stressed that this country is still abundant with dangers for US soldiers.
Officials at the Pentagon said that with the increase in the number of American soldiers who are killed in Iraq since US President George W. Bush announced the end of main fighting operations in Iraq, the Pentagon feels great concern especially as the number of killings tolled 38.
Meantime, the main Iraqi political forces refused the American plan concerning the interim authority in Iraq as these forces are expected to meet on Friday with US administrator of Iraq, Paul Bremer.
The Iraqi official at the Higher Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq Abdul Aziz al-Hakim said that it is necessary to found a national Iraqi government in which the Iraqis will be the only reference, noting that this is the basic issue for the Iraqis.
Meantime, news reports in Baghdad said that the deteriorated living conditions of the Iraqis has raised their regret and anger especially as chaos overwhelmed the country.
The reports said that the Iraqis do not feel free under a foreign rule. All are eager to improve their living conditions following tough sanctions imposed on their country for 13 years. They are launching a daily fight for survival. Despite some improvement on water and electricity networking, however, many Iraq are still obliged to use the polluted waters of the Tigris.
