Kuwait: 137 persons register for parliamentary elections

The chairman of the Kuwaiti elections bureau Ali Murad announced yesterday that 137 Kuwaitis had registered their names so far to launch the Parliamentary elections which will be held on July 5th over the 50- seat parliament.
The registration started on Monday. Murad said that 83 candidates registered their names and 55 yesterday. However, one of them was excluded and thereby number of candidates is 137.
The reason behind excluding the candidate was not known. It is, however, expected that hundreds of Kuwaiti men will register for the elections which are carried every four years.
