Morocco-Germany, Politics, 6/3/2003
A Delegation of Moroccan women parliament members started on Sunday a work visit to Germany for meetings with several German officials and MPs.
The Moroccan MPs will meet officials of Friedrich Ebert foundation (private institution close to the democratic social party (SPD), secretary of state at the German federal ministry for economic cooperation and development, Erich Stather, and deputy-speaker of the German parliament, Susan Kastner.
The visit will be an opportunity for the all-female parliamentary delegation to discuss the democratic experience in Morocco and acquaint German MPs and officials with Moroccan institutions for the promotion of human rights. The MPs will also talk about women in the political scene and inside the parliament where the number of women parliamentarians increased from 2 to 35.
